INTRODUCTION
|
In a complex, inter-connected,
and technologically advanced world, it is both easier and more important
to join forces to address the most vexing global problems-from health threats to
natural disasters to climate change. NSF, the premiere science funding agency in
America, forms partnerships with governments, academia, business and industry to
advance the frontiers of fundamental research and innovation that underpin the
search for solutions. These partnerships ensure that solutions are developed,
promoted and applied on many levels-from enhancing the economies of local
communities to improving the standard of living for all of the world's citizens.
